Four persons have died in three separate road traffic accidents in the capital.

The accidents occurred in Khilgaon, Khilkhet and Tejgaon Monday night.

In Khilgaon, two persons died, and several others were injured when a bus full of passengers skidded off Nakdar Parh Bridge into a ditch around 11:30 pm, police said.

The bodies of the two deceased persons were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia of the police camp there told bdnews24.com. 

He could not identify the victims immediately but said they age between 35 and 40.

Khilgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector Khairuzzaman said he heard a Demra-bound bus of Swadhin Paribahan fell off the bridge, causing 'some' casualties.

Another person died after being hit by a bus while crossing the street in front of Le Méridien Hotel in Khilkhet.

Bachchu Mia said the victim had been identified as Abu Bakr Siddiqui Niloy, 22, a private university student who was also working in an insurance firm.

The SI said he was brought to the hospital around 8:30 pm, but the doctors declared him dead.

He also said a speeding bus heading towards Mohakhali ran over three persons at seven-road roundabout at around 9:30 pm.

One of them, pick-up van driver Robiul Islam, 40, was declared dead when the three were brought to the hospital.

The two other victims, identified as rickshaw-puller 'Jafar', 30, and one 'Ismail', have been admitted to the hospital, Bachchu Mia said.
