Deputy Attorney General Motaher Hossain Saju told bdnews24.com that Gaibandha chief justice magistrate's report had been submitted to the apex court.

The 66-page main report would be put up for hearing on Tuesday.

The High Court had ordered the inquiry on Dec 14 last year after a mass outrage over video footage and media reports that depicted police setting Santal houses on fire during the deadly eviction drive on the land in Gaibandha's Gobindaganj.

The incident took place on Nov 6 last year. Video footage of the incident had gone viral on social media a month later from where the press picked it up.

The National Human Rights Commission too joined the mass clamour demanding legal action, prompting the High Court to take action.
