Chhatir Ali was detained from inside a jungle in Chintamoni village Wednesday morning for allegedly killing his two sons – Sujel Ahmed, 11, and Abdul Mumin, 9.
Their bodies were found near a puddle in the village Monday evening.
Sylhet Superintendent of Police Moniruzzaman told bdnews24.com that Chhatir has confessed to killing his sons, and relatives had also blamed him for the heinous act.
Chhatir might have committed the crime following family conflict, said the SP.
The matter was under investigation, he added.
