Alok Sharma met Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Friday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the foreign ministry said.
They discussed a number of issues of common interest including trade, investment, regional economic integration, migration and implications of Brexit.
Sharma assured that all development partners will be “duly informed” about their plan to deal with the new post-Brexit situation.
Ali pointed out scope for more British investment in different sectors in Bangladesh especially in infrastructure.
He also requested the British Minister for taking “necessary measures” for simplifying the visa regime to promote people to people contact.
The UK is one of the largest development partners of Bangladesh.
