Three separate investigations into Tongi factory boiler blast

Three separate investigations have been launched over the fire at a packaging factory in Gazipur that left at least 26 people dead so far.

The fatal fire at the five-storey factory building of Tampaco Foils broke out early on Saturday after a boiler exploded.

The Gazipur administration has formed a five-member body headed by an additional district magistrate.

 "They have been asked to file a report within 15 working days," said Gazipur's Deputy Commissioner SM Alam.

 Fire Service and Civil Defence's Director Anis Mahmud said they have also launched an investigation headed by Deputy Director Md Badiuzzaman.

 He said the five-member body has been told to submit its finding within 10 working days.

 A third probe has been launched by the government's Factory Inspection Department.

 Its Director General Syed Ahammed said a three-member committee headed by Deputy Director General Md Shamsuzamman Bhuiyan has been tasked to probe the incident.
