The vehicle with garment products will travel to New Delhi via Benapole-Petrapole-Kolkata and Lucknow. It reached Kolkata on Aug 28, a day after leaving Dhaka.

The cargo vehicle will be ceremonially received in Kolkata on Tuesday, the high commission said.

The trial run for the Kolkata-Khulna bus service will take place at 12.30pm on Tuesday from Kolkata and will reach Khulna at 7.30pm on the same day.

The bus service will be flagged off by West Bengal Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

The trial runs will enable operators and transporters to understand the practical issues involved in plying the route and the data collected will form the basis for regular cargo and passenger movements being proposed under BBIN MVA.

The agreement was signed at the BBIN transport ministers’ meeting in Thimpu in June last year.
