The elite police unit says one of those arrested is the adviser of the banned group’s female wing.

Dhaka-based RAB-4 chief Major Sayeed told bdnews24.com that the arrests were made during raids in different parts of the capital.

He, however, did not disclose their identities and said details will be provided at a media briefing on Tuesday.

In July, law enforcers arrested seven female JMB activists from Sirajganj and Tangail with arms, explosives and jihadi literatures.

Police had also claimed three of those held in Tangail were members of the Islamist group’s suicide squad.

Security agencies have been blaming the JMB for the wave of targeted killings and terror attacks, including the ones at Dhaka’s Gulshan and Kishoreganj’s Sholakia.

The list of people released by RAB, who went missing in the last few months and suspected to be involved in militancy, also features a few females.
