Local police Inspector Md Moniruzzaman said that they were nabbed from a ground-floor apartment during a ‘block-raid’ early on Tuesday.

He said that they have found a huge number of jihadi literature in the apartment. “We suspect they gathered there to plan some kind of attack.”

Thirty two -year-old Saiful Islam, one of those nabbed, claimed himself to be the ‘director’ of that group.
Police, however, are yet to confirm his designation at the Jamaat’s student wing, the Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Identities of the other 13 have not been revealed.
“They had rented the apartment three months ago. They came from different parts of the country,” said Inspector Moniruzzaman.
He added they will be produced before the court on Wednesday.
Police have been conducting raids at different parts of the capital almost every night after the Gulshan and Sholakia terror attacks.
During one of these routine searches, a gunfight erupted early on Jul 26 between police and suspected militants holed up in an apartment at Kalyanpur.
The SWAT team stormed the apartment later when nine suspected militants were gunned down, said police.
