Assault on Bauls reported from Chuadanga
An assault on Bauls or mystic singers has been reported from the south-western district of Chuadanga for the second time in a month.

Police said unidentified men attacked an Akhra (place where Bauls stay) in the wee hours of Friday in the district’s Damurhuda Upazila.
Bauls Zultam Khan and Nagen Halder were beaten up and their hair cut by the men, who then set the place on fire, said local police OC AZM Fakhrul Alam Khan.
On Jul 17, Baul singers including a couple had been attacked at an Akhra in a village in the same district.
The officer said eight to ten men had barged into the Akhra, which is also singer Khan’s home.
“They tied them up and set fire to the house,” he said, adding that an investigation had been launched.
