Police file case under Anti-terrorism Act over Kalyanpur militant hideout raid
Police have filed a case over Tuesday’s raid on a militant hideout in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur.

Once the case files reached the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Magistrate Md Sazzadur Rahman ordered police to file the investigation report within Sep 19.
The case, under the Anti-terrorism Act, names the nine killed, the one captured alive and several other unidentified men, said Mirpur police OC Bhuiyan Mahbub Hossain.
He said that the case was lodged Wednesday night with the Mirpur Model Police Station.
During a routine search operation, police came under attack from an apartment in a six-storey building at the wee hours of Tuesday.
Hours later in the morning, the SWAT team stormed the apartment, when a gunfight erupted killing nine suspected militants.
Earlier during the night-long standoff, police arrested one Rakibul Hasan with gunshot wounds while he was trying to escape.
He is being now treated at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Firearms and explosives have been found inside the apartment as well as black flags, similar to those used by Middle East-based outfit the Islamic State.
The law-enforcers, however, said they suspect them to be operatives of banned militant group Jamaa’tul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Police said on Wednesday that they have identified seven of the nine killed militants by matching their fingerprints with the National ID database.
The seven have been identified as Md Abdullah from Dinajpur, 23, Abu Hakim Nayeem, 24, from Patuakhali, Motiur Rahman from Satkhira, Zobayer Hossain, 22, from Noakhali, and Taj-ul-Haque Rashik, 24, from Dhanmondi, Akifuzzaman Khan, 24, from Gulshan, and Shehzad Rauf Arka from Basundhara in Dhaka.
Of them, Shehzad is a US citizen. The youth, 'missing' since February, had been a friend of dead Gulshan café attacker Nibras Islam.
They had studied at Monash University's Malaysia campus.
Meanwhile, police have secured two days remand to question the wife of the Kalyanpur building’s owner Mamtaz Parvin. She has been booked for not verifying identities before renting out.
They say that the landlord Atahar Uddin has been absconding.
