Police said locals informed them after spotting a body.

The identity of the dead was confirmed with the help of a visiting card found on the body, said Keraniganj police OC Ferdous Hasan.

Khaled's family had made a missing diary on Saturday night.

The 55-year-old, who lead the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DBCCI), lived in Dhanmondi’s Road 4/A.

Khaled, a student of Dhaka University in the 1980s, was the Managing Director of Chemico Bangladesh Ltd.

He was involved in export-import business and plastic goods trade for the past 25 years, working out of his office in Dhaka's New Eskaton.

Hasan, one of the founders of the DBCCI, also helped promote trade between Bangladesh and the Netherlands.
