Haque was earlier appointed for a three-year term on Jun 23, 2013 as the law commission’s seventh chairman.
Commission Secretary Md Ali Akbar told bdnews24.com on Thursday that the letter of Haque’s reappointment for another three years had arrived from the law ministry. His present term was to end on Jul 23 this year.
As the law commission chairman, Haque will have the same pay, allowances, and other facilities as that of the chief justice.
Almost all chairmen of the law commission have been retired chief justices. Among those who preceded Haque were Justices FKMA Munem, Kamal Uddin Hossein, Mostafa Kamal and ATM Afzal.
