Police said 60-year-old Sunil Gomes was attacked at a Christian neighbourhood in the district’s Barhaigram Upazila.
He was murdered inside his shop, which is adjacent to his home.
“Family members rushed to the shop when they heard him screaming and found him in a pool of blood. He was taken to a local hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” said local police’s Sub Inspector Dayal Kumar.
He said that the body had several wounds inflicted by sharp weapons.
Police suspect Islamist radicals who have been responsible for the recent spate of murders of people from religious communities in northern and western Bangladesh.
But they are yet to say anything on whether that’s the case with Sunday’s murder of the Christian man in Natore.
