Fifty-year-old Hindu idols stolen from Netrokona temple

Thieves have decamped with three 50-year-old idols from a Hindu temple in Netrokona town.

Police said that the priest found the temple’s main entrance broken around 8:30am on Wednesday.

“The stolen idols weigh almost 22 kg, but they were not made of black basalt stones,” said Netrokona Model Police Station OC Abu Taher.

He said that investigators have already started gathering evidence, including taking fingerprints from the spot of the crime.

Temple authorities said that the idols have been there for almost 50 years.
