Foreign minister expects devotion from Bangladesh diplomats

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali has asked Bangladesh diplomats in New York to work with ‘devotion’ and said his ministry would provide all-out support to them.

Briefing them during a visit to the Consulate General in New York on Friday, Ali said his ministry gave “highest priority” to the consular and welfare issues of Bangladesh nationals abroad.

The foreign minister was in New York to represent the Prime Minister in the UN high-level panel on water on Thursday.

Sheikh Hasina has been appointed as a member of the panel consisting 10 heads of state.

The New York mission said he visited the Consulate General and talked with the diplomats and officials there.

Consul General Md Shameem Ahsan received the minister and briefed him about their activities.

Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative in the UN Ambassador Masud Bin Momen was also present, among others.
