Two killed in Manikganj over land dispute, police looking for absconding nephews

Two people in Manikganj have been murdered allegedly by their nephews over a land dispute.

The incident, which left another critically injured, was reported from Singair Upazila on Sunday morning, said police.

Tendol Molla, 60 and his cousin Aziz Molla, 50, died after they were hacked with sharp weapons.

Tendol’s brother Karim Molla, 50, has been hospitalised with severe slash injuries, said Singair police OC Syed uz Zaman.

He told bdnews24.com, quoting locals, that the three had a feud with their nephews Jahid Hossain and Jasim Mia over land. “Jahid and Jasim attacked them with sharp weapons, which left Tendol and Aziz killed on the spot.”

Locals rushed Karim to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where he was in critical condition, said doctors.

The nephews are absconding since the killings and police is looking for them, said OC Zaman.
