The officials are the airliner’s Assistant Station Manager at Shahjalal International Airport Samiur Rahman, 35, Passenger Service Specialist Jewel Ahmed, 29, and baggage handler Mizanur Rahman, 30.

A mobile court on Friday slapped a fine of Tk 100,000 on the trio in addition to awarding two-year jail term to Jewel and Mizanur after 30 tortoises were recovered from the airport.

The bags in which the tortoises were concealed were bearing Malaysia Airlines tags.

A police officer at airport said the tortoises were released at Gazipur safari park on Saturday.
