At least 32 injured in earthquake panic rush in Sylhet

Panic rush after tremors in Sylhet caused by the earthquake in northeast India has left at least 32 people injured.

A 6.7 powerful quake, with its epicentre in the northeastern state state of Manipur, jolted Bangladesh at 5:05 am local time.

As buildings shook and swayed in Sylhet, which borders on the Indian state of Assam, people desperately tried to get out of homes.

At least 32 people were taken to the Osmani Medical College and Hospital with minor injuries, said its emergency wing doctor Debashish Shaha.
