Dhaka Central Jail's Senior Superintendent Md Jahangir Kabir told bdnews24.com the former RAB-11 commander was sent to the DMCH at around 2pm on Sunday after he complained of chest pain.

Kabir said Mohammad was lodged in this jail for the past several days.

Mohammad is the son-in-law of Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya.

The RAB commander was sacked following accusations that he was involved in the abduction and murder of seven people.

Police arrested him on May 17, 2014, following a High Court order. The former lieutenant colonel ‘confessed’ to his crimes later in court.

Seven men, including Narayanganj City’s Ward-2 Councillor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar, were abducted on Apr 27 in 2014. Their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya River several days later.

Two other Narayanganj-based former RAB-11 officers Arif Hossain and MM Rana, arrested in the same case, also confessed in court.
