The victim said she was returning home from a neighbour’s house around 9pm Tuesday when a gang of men dragged her to the nearby bushes.

‘Rehena’ said she was gagged and her hands restrained.

Saidul Master, Monjurul Islam, Rakibul Islam and another man she did not know took turns in violating her, said the village homemaker, admitted to the Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital.

“There is evidence of Rehena’s sexual injuries,” Dr Faisal Alam told bdnews24.com.

She said the attack happened couple of days after she called a press conference accusing Chirirbandar Police Station OC Anisur Rahman of taking bribe and making changes to the case details.

The first three she named stand accused in the case for abusing her and her family.

“They (rapists) made me sign on a blank sheet and threatened to kill me if I accused the police again and carry on with the case.”

The men then dumped her in front of her home, she said. “Family members rushed me to the Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital.”

“She faced sexual violence because the police were irresponsible,” Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Dinajpur Committee chief Kaniz Rahman told reporters after visiting Rehena at the hospital.

She threatened to stir up a movement if police did not arrest the offenders.

Meanwhile, Chirirbandar Police OC Anisur Rahman has denied the allegations against him. “The accused secured bail the day after the case was filed. So how can we arrest them.”
