Father hacks son and daughter to death at Chakaria
Police say a father has hacked to death his six-year-old son and three-year-old daughter at Chakaria Upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

Chakaria Circle ASP Masud Alam told bdnews24.com that the killings occurred around 3:30am on Tuesday in the upazila’s North Harbang Dainkata area.
Quoting locals, the police official said that 45-year-old Abul Kashem was having a fight with his wife, Saya Khatun, 38, over Eid shopping. At one point, he just went over the top and hacked at her with a farming sickle.
She managed to flee but he hacked to death both his children -- son Jamal Hossain and daughter Sanjida Begum Moni.
Terming Kashem as ‘psychologically ill’, Alam said he also hacked to death three goats they owned.
Locals have rescued the injured wife and admitted her to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Kashem has been arrested and the bodies of the children have been kept in the morgue, Alam said.
