Progressive blogger Omar Farooq Lux, now a German citizen, told bdnews24.com on Tuesday that he had been alerted by German Criminal Police about Ansarullah Bangla's plans to attack him.

"The German criminal police have asked me to change my residence because they have inputs that the Ansarullah Bangla militants have a clear idea about my present location," Lux told bdnews24.com.

He said the German police have told him that some UK-based Islamic fundamentalists are helping the Ansarullah Bangla Team to infiltrate a hit-squad into the country to attack him.

Lux, a sculptor and a passionate blogger, has now been provided with round-the-clock security by German police.

The former student of sculpture at the Dhaka University, has almost 12,000 followers on Facebook.
For his blogs and Facebook postings, Lux has been regularly threatened with death.
A few months ago, a BUET student Shafiqul Islam, upset with his social media activism,  threatened over Facebook to kill him in Germany.
The Ansarullah Bangla Team is suspected for murders of several progressive bloggers and online activists in Bangladesh this year.
After the murders, the radical group has owned to the murders of the likes of US-based Avijit Roy in its Twitter pages.
Lux is a regular contributor to Mukto Mona, the site founded by slain blogger Avijit Roy.
On May 12, another 'Mukto Mona' blogger Ananta Bijoy Das was murdered in Sylhet.
Bangladesh intelligence says the Ansarullah Bangla has close links with Middle East's Islamic State, which has considerable notoriety by its brutal mass beheadings.
