The bench of justices Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and JBM Hassan heard a rule issued over the BNP leader’s plea on Tuesday.

It declared the trial court’s cognisance of the charges pressed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) against the former minister as legal.

“The High Court verdict means there’s no more hurdle for the corruption case to be tried in the trial court,” ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told reporters.

Moudud, a senior lawyer who represented himself in the court on Tuesday, told the media that he will appeal against the decision.
