26 detained from DU Hall before city polls
Police have detained 26 people from Dhaka University’s (DU) Sergeant Zohurul Haq Hall on the night before the City Corporation poll.

Ramna Zone Police’s Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shibli Noman said the outsiders were detained after raiding the Hall around 1am on Tuesday.
The detained are supporters of Dhaka South mayor aspirant Awami League-sponsored Moin Uddin Ahmed Babu, he said.
AC Shibli told the reporters that based on a tip-off they raided the Hall and arrested 26 outsiders after searching for an hour.
Acting Proctor of the university Amzad Ali said people from different parts of the city have come to Zohurul Haq Hall for voting. They have been detained with the help of police.
