Both sides take stocks of the relations and discuss the way forward in this highest forum for political talks.

The dialogue would be held on Thursday and Friday, spokesperson of the US embassy in Dhaka Monica Shie confirmed to bdnews24.com.

She said US Assistant Secretary for state South and Central Asia Nisha Desai Biswal would also attend this dialogue.

Bangladesh side will be led by its Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque.

The partnership dialogue is aimed at advancing “the robust and growing bilateral relationship and provide it strategic direction”.

“The two sides will discuss the full range of our bilateral activities, including development and governance, trade and investment, and security cooperation,” said the spokesperson.

This dialogue generally features three working groups -- development and governance, trade and investment, and security cooperation.

Issues of regional and global interest are also discussed.

The foreign ministry officials say they view this dialogue as a way of taking Dhaka-Washington ties forward.
