‘Amader Kotha’, a compilation of reports and essays by children, to be released Sunday

A first of its kind book, ‘Amar kotha, amader kotha (My voice, our voice),’ a compilation of reports and essays written by children and adolescent journalists, will be released on Sunday.

The book is the unique endeavour of the first Bengali website specialising on young journalists, hello.bdnews24.com
 
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will be present, among others, as guests at the book-release function.
  
Over 100 young journalists from across the country will also attend the function.
 
The book-release function will be held under the theme ‘Amar kothao jabe bohudur, (My voice will also reach far), at the Hotel Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka from 4pm.
 
Private mobile phone operator Grameenphone will be the co-partner of the programme. 
 
The website hello.bdnews24.com, the first-ever specialised children's news service website of Bangladesh, was launched on Mar 13, 2013.
  
Mostly children and adolescent journalists are involved in content developments, starting from news gathering to presentation on the website.

Executive Editor of Hello, Mujtaba Hakim Plato told bdnews24.com, “The initiative to publish the book was taken to highlight the mindset of the younger generations of the country.”

The book would contain reports and comments contributed by children over the years on the website, he said.

“It reflects how youth-friendly the country has become while also portraying the mindset of the youths,” he added.

More than five thousand children are currently involved with the Hello website.

The news-based website is administered by bdnews24.com.

The young, trained journalists under the supervision of skilled journalists of the bdnews24.com are also contributing to the mainstream journalism.
