Fire in Paltan building kills 1, injures 3
At least one person has been killed and three others injured in a fire at a multi-storeyed building in Dhaka.

The fire broke out on the fifth floor of Swadesh Tower at Purana Paltan’s Culvert Road around 5:15am on Saturday, Fire Service officials said.
Deceased Anwar Hossain, 30, was a security guard of the 16-storey building.
Fire Service control room official Ataur Rahman said 10 units of the fire fighters doused the fire after an hour-long effort.
The smoke choked security personnel Anwar, ‘Mizan’, ‘Shahjahan’ and ‘Zakir’.
Anwar was declared after four of them were taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Paltan police chief Morshed Alam said.
The cause of the fire and the amount of losses could not be ascertained immediately.
