A number of answer sheets and furniture were burnt in the fire at Dhangarha Dakhil Madrasa on Thursday evening, Raiganj police OC Rashedul Islam Biswas said.

Someone broke a window of the office and set fire to a parcel containing the answer sheets pouring petrol on it.

The residential students of the madrasa brought the fire under control immediately, the OC said.

SSC and equivalent exams are going to start on Friday after delays due to shutdowns called by BNP and its allies.

In Noakhali, miscreants set fire to the district's primary education office around 8:30pm.
Primary Education Officer Anwar Hossain said they broke a window of his office and doused petrol before lighting the fire.
Some important papers and furniture were burnt before the Fire Service extinguished the flames.
