Blockaders clash with poilce in Narayanganj, bus torched

Police have clashed with BNP blockade supporters in Narayanganj as the mob vandalised vehicles and burst bombs.

Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station OC Manjur Kader said police dispersed the BNP activists in Nitaiganj when they tried to vandalise vehicles on Friday morning. Two were derained from the scene, he said.

Witnesses said a march led by local BNP President Taimur Alam Khandaker was taken out at Nitaiganj around 8:30am.
The BNP activists hurled bricks at eight to 10 vehicles and tried to set a truck on fire. At least five bombs were exploded, too.
They clashed with police who tried to disperse them. Local BNP General Secretary ATM Kamal said at least five of their activists were injured in the clash.
Meanwhile, miscreants set a bus ablaze at Fatulla’s Panchabati BSCIC industrial city around 9:30am.
