In a message to her counterpart Shinzo Abe, she offered to provide assistance and cooperation in the ongoing rescue efforts, the foreign ministry on Tuesday said.

So far, 51 bodies had been recovered from the site of the Sep 27 volcanic eruption at Nagano Prefecture’s Mount Ontake.

Many still remained missing in what had been described the deadliest volcanic eruption since World War II.

Hasina expressed her deepest condolences “to the families who lost their loved ones and sincere sympathy to the families whose near and dear ones suffered injuries and for those still missing”.
