An activist of the Jamaat-e-Islami student wing, Islamic Chhatra Shibir, has been arrested in Chittagong’s Baklia for allegedly trying to foment chaos.

Abdulla Maruf, 20, passed his Higher Secondary School Certificate exam from Mohsin College. His father Mofizur Rahma hails from Mirsarai and is an Islami Bank official.
Baklia Police OC Md Mohsin said Maruf had been arrested at 9pm Monday.
“He is accused in several cases of vandalism and sabotage that took place last year. He was instigating a group of youngsters at Baklia to take part in violence.”
There will be legal actions against him, the OC said.
