President returns from UK

President MD Abdul Hamid has returned to Dhaka from the UK after undergoing eye treatment and health check-up.

The 70-year-old leader has been long suffering from Glaucoma. He left Dhaka on Aug 17.

He arrived at Dhaka airport at 8am Monday by a regular Biman Bangladesh flight, his Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told bdnews24.com.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali received him at the airport.

Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Shaher Mohammad, British High Commissioner Robert Gibson were also there besides high ranking government and military officials.

“The president has met and greeted the flight’s other passengers”, his press secretary Ihsanul Karim told bdnews24.com.
