The ceremony seeking divine blessings for her soul will take place at her Dhanmondi residence after the Asr prayers, her elder son Rabiul Hasan Avi told bdnews24.com.

Journalist, writer, social campaigner and former MP AN Mahfuza Khatun Baby Maudud died at a Dhaka hospital last Friday.

She was Special Affairs Editor at Bangladesh’s first internet newspaper - bdnews24.com.
In a career spread over roughly five decades, the journalist also worked with the BBC, Daily Sangbad, Daily Ittefaq, BSS and Weekly Bichitra, to name a few.
Her son Avi said they were grateful to President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina -- who was friends with Maudud -- and Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury who mourned her and checked on how she was doing during treatment and about the family after her death.
He also thanked the media and those who had gone to the Dhanmondi home to console the kins and inquired about them.
