Rana's lawyers had sought bail from Justice Nizamul Haque and Justice Jahangir Hossain's bench in the Anti Corruption Commission's (ACC) case against Rana. The bail plea was, however, rejected.

Deputy Attorney General Amit Talukder was present on behalf of the state.

ACC filed the case of building code violation following the Rana Plaza collapse that killed over a thousand garment workers.

A charge-sheet, filed on Jul 17, accused 18 people including Rana. It holds Rana is solely responsible for the irregularities and corruption in the construction of Rana Plaza building.
The charge-sheet also names Rana's father Abdul Khaleq, his mother Marjina Begum, and former Savar City Mayor Refat Ullah among the accused.
The ACC probe has revealed that Rana had 23 accounts in various banks. He owns a five-storey building at Savar, a two-storey house at Singair, in Manikganj, and two brick kilns - Rana Bricks and MK Bricks.
Rana was arrested on Apr 28 last year, four days after the building came down, from Benapole, in Jessore.
