The foreign ministry in a media release said Bangladesh is “deeply shocked at the recent Israeli atrocities and violence perpetrated in Gaza”.

It says Bangladesh maintains its principled position on “a comprehensive solution” of the Palestinian question in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map.

Bangladesh also called upon all parties to exercise the “maximum restraint to avoid further loss of lives and resume dialogue to revive the peace process at the earliest towards a two-State solution”.

The foreign ministry says Bangladesh firmly believes that the occupation of Palestinian land must come to an end, and the Palestinians people must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
