Mizanur Rahman Khan, member of the administrative probe committee, formed following the court’s order, submitted the document to the Attorney General’s office on Tuesday.
“We have found out who are involved. We are working on ascertaining the motive behind the murders.
“We are also working to gather further evidence on those that were involved,” he told bdnews24.com
Seven, including Narayanganj City Councillor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar, were abducted on Apr 27. A few days later, their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakhyya River.
The committee has sought information from several institutions including the Bangladesh Bank. The investigation will end once the committee gets every bit of information it needs, he said.
The investigators have sought another four weeks to wrap up the probe, said Khan.
He said their progress report would be seen by the bench of High Court Justices Md Rezaul Haque and Gobinda Chandra Tagore on Wednesday.
“We have sought four weeks time for now. I can’t say if we will have to seek more extensions.”
