Factory closed over workers unrest

Workers of Hop Lun Apparels protested in front of its factory in Sataish area in Gazipur demanding safe drinking water, bonus and other facilities.

Following the protest, authority shut down the factory.

ASP of Gazipur industrial area S A Kahaleq told bdnews24.com, “Around 3,000 workers stopped working demanding incentive bonus, lunch, safe drinking water and other facilities from 9 am. At one stage, they had come out and started protesting in front of the office. Authority closed down the factory following the protest.”

Police intervened and restored law and order in the area.
