Injured Mostafijul Haque Limon, 45, is the owner of Jamuna Filling Station in Maghbazar. He lives in Bansree Rampura and is a father of two sons and a daughter.

His relatives claim extortionists had shot at him a year ago also.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Mashiur Rahman told bdnews24.com, “Miscreants fired at him around 11 am on Tuesday at the Maghbazar roudabout and fled.”
Limon was admitted to hospital.
Doctor on duty said, ”He was shot on both sides. It’s too early to say whether he is out of danger.”
Limon’s friend Ananda Sarker was accompanying him on a rickshaw when the attack took place. Ananda is the owner of a cosmetics shop near the Jamuna Filling Station.
”About five to six men sprang from the alley of Piyashi bar and started shooting at Limon. They fled within a minute,”
Sarker told bdnews24.com.
Limon fell off the rickshaw, but Ananda managed to take him to the nearest Insaaf Hospital. He was later transferred to the Holy Family Hospital, Ananda said.
Ananda lamented that many people were present at the spot but none had ventured to help.
Ananda said Limon had been shot in the leg last year, too, by extortionists.
The Mukul–Robin gang of Magbazaar had demanded Tk 500,000. But he had sent only Tk 200,000 via a courier, Ananda revealed.
OC Mashiur Rahman confirmed the incident, saying, ”A case had been filed at the Ramna police station in connection with last year’s shooting incident. We have been looking into the matter.”
