SI suspended for taking bribe
A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Police in Madaripur has been put under temporary suspension for allegedly taking bribe.

The SI has been posted as In-Charge of the Charmuguria Police Camp in Sadar Upazila, Madaripur.
Madaripur Police Super Khandakar Faridul Islam said, Maqsudur Rahman, the Investigation Officer (IO) in a case filed under the Prevention of Repression against Women and Children Act, had been caught taking bribe from the complainant on Wednesday night.
“Maqsudur has been taken off duty since then. He will also have to face disciplinary actions,” the Police Super said.
Police officials said that one Salma Begum had informed the Police Super about the IO demanding money from her.
The complaint prompted a sting operation, in which the police super gave the woman Tk 8,000 of his own money to be given to Maqsud to meet his demand.
Maqsud was caught while taking the money from Salma Begum on Wednesday night.
