Fire at Jamuna Group factory
A Jamuna Group factory at Gazipur’s Kaliakoir was gutted in a fire on Wednesday night.

The fire started a little before 8pm at the Islam Packaging and Printing Factory at Safipur area. The blazed lasted for around two and half hours, fire fighters said.
Six units from Savar’s EPZ, Gazipur and Kaliakoir stations put out the flames around 10:30pm, Kaliakoir fire station officer Apurba Bal told bdnews24.com.
Factory Manager Khairul Islam said there were at least 375 tonnes of cotton and other packaging materials and machines in it.
All these were destroyed in the fire, he said.
