Angry students, in protest, have announced a boycott of classes on Saturday.

Bogra Sadar Police Station’s OC Faijul Haque said the armed miscreants raided a common room of the first-year students late at night.

He told bdnews24.com the robbers rendered them unconscious with chemicals and fled with 15 mobile phones, three laptops, an unspecified amount of cash and jewellery.

The hostel’s Superintendent Dr Sushanto Kumar filed a case over the robbery at Sadar Police Station, he added.

Some students, asking not to be named, told bdnews24.com that the robbers had tried to violate several of them.

They alleged the hostel’s security guards assisted in the robbery.

Quoting case details, the OC said that 17 students lived in that room on the first floor of the hostel building.

The robbers came in around 3:30am Friday and held them hostage at gunpoint. Then they sprayed chemicals to make them unconscious and snatched the belongings.

The medical college’s Vice-Principal Dr Rezaul Alam Jewel said he visited the room and directed the hostel superintendent to act immediately.
