3 die in separate road accidents

Two children and an aged woman have been killed in separate road accidents in Manikganj, Sirajganj and Rajshahi.

All of them died on the spot.

Sixty-two-year old Madhumala Begum was run over by a bus near Manikganj’s Golra bus stand at Shaturia on Friday morning, police said.

Golra police outpost OC Humayun Kabir said Madhumala was crossing the road when a bus of the ‘NNB Paribahan’ hit her from behind.

Meanwhile, in Sirajganj, 12-year-old Hashem Ali was run over by a truck near the Sadar Upazila’s Shialkol Bazar.

Sadar police Sub-Inspector Dulal Uddin said Ali was on his bicycle when the truck hit him.

Eight-year-old ‘Rahima’ was killed in Rajshahi’s Godagarhi when she was run over by a bus.

Godagarhi police station OC Abu Mokammem Ali said Rahima was crossing the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway on Friday noon when a bus hit her.

It was not immediately clear whether police had seized the vehicles involved with the accidents.
