The two others are Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Abdus Salam, member secretary of the party’s Dhaka Metropolitan unit.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan denied them bail in various cases on Sunday.

The three were then taken to Dhaka Central Jail at 1pm, said SI Murad Hossain, on duty at the court’s lockup.
Fakhrul, Abbas and Salam were among the five BNP leaders who were granted bail by the High Court but that was cancelled by the Appellate Division on Mar 9.
Fakhrul is accused in two cases of murders during the BNP’s blockade and strikes.
The cases were filed over arson attacks on two buses at Dhaka’s Shahbagh and Paribagh which caused several deaths.
Abbas is also named in three cases of violence and Salam in one. They had all pleaded for bail in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court.
