Police have released five men, including former fashion model and actor Pallab, hours after they were detained with weapons in Dhaka.

A case was filed under the Arms Act, accusing nine people including three who are absconding.
Police nabbed 11 people from Rampura’s Kunjaban area early on Sunday, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel zone) Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman.
Ashrafuzzaman said three pistols, 14 bullets and four knives had been found on them.
“All of them were questioned at the police station. We later released five men, including actor Pallab, around noon as we did not find any evidence of their involvement,” he said.
Those who have been shown arrested are ‘Fariduddin’, ‘Ismail’, Obaidur Rahman Badal, ‘Jony’, Liton Matubbar and ‘Kamal’ aka Digital Kamal.
Asrafuzzaman, however, did not reveal the names of three other accused.
“The arms were being carried with a view to commit crimes.
“We’ll seek a 10-day remand for them to find out more,” he said.
