Police detained three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir in Chittagong before the Opposition’s indefinite blockade began on Wednesday morning.

Police detained Shibir activist Ziaul Haque, 23, with a firearm from Lohagarha’s Kalaujan early on Wednesday, said Lohagarha Police Station OC Md Shahjahan.
They detained two Jamaat activists from Banshkhali’s Baharchharha union around the same time, inspector Abdus Salam said.
