Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said the ruling and the opposition parties can talk in the parliament if they want to resolve the political crisis as the parliament is still on session.

“We’ll have to continue this session for a few more days as parliament’s nod to several important bills is pending,” she told journalists on the sidelines of the ‘Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day’ celebration on Saturday evening.

She, however, could not specify how long this session would continue.

“It will depend on the passage of bills. You know after placing a bill in the parliament it goes to the standing committee and then again come back to the parliament for its nod.

“So it (the session duration) depends on the house’s business,” she said and that she believed the door for dialogue to resolve the crisis was still open.

Amid the ongoing political dispute over the polls time government, the current 19th parliament session has been extended on Oct 7 to Nov 7.

Then it was extended again.
