Sylhet municipal workers were seen dumping market waste into the river, a resident says
The letter sent via post office reached Chittagong’s Chief Judicial Magistrate Ruhul Amin’s office on Sunday afternoon, Rezaul Masud, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of court police said.
The senders – identifying themselves as residents of Fatikchharhi and Raozan Upazilas – demanded the BNP MP be freed “within August”.
They threatened to blow up government establishments like the courthouse, the Bandar Bhaban, Bidyut Bhaban, and the Chittagong Customs House, ADC Masud said.
“We will send your (the Chief Judicial Magistrate) body to your family if SQ Chowdhury is not released,” he quoted the letter as warning.
The magistrate's office has lodged a general diary with police.
