Khondakar Ashraf no more

Khondakar Ashraf Hossain, a Bengali poet and Professor of English Literature, passed away at a Dhaka hospital on Sunday morning.

He was 63.
He also served as a Vice Chancellor of Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal.
His namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) was held in the courtyard of the mosque at Dhaka University after Asr prayers.
His colleagues said he was undergoing treatment at LabAid Hospital.
Various people of eminence flocked to the hospital after hearing about his death.
Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, Professor Anwar Hossain, has also expressed grief at the poet’s death.
Ashraf Hossain was born in Jan 4, 1950, in Jamalpur. He obtained MA degree from Dhaka University in English Literature. He also obtained a degree from Leeds University before obtaining PhD from Dhaka University.
He authored 18 books and was also a translation expert
