Magura Jamaat Chief nabbed

Police nabbed Magura district Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Alamgir Biswas in the wee hours of Tuesday wee hours in a case filed over attack on police.

He was nabbed from his Stadium Para residence in the city, Magura Sadar Police Station Officer in-Charge Jahangir Alam told bdnews24.com.

Alamgir Biswas is a lecturer of Sadar Degree College in Sripur upazila.
The OC said clashes took place when Jamaat men attacked the police in city’s Barunakoil area on Feb 12.
Police had filed a case against 168 people, naming 18 of them, for the attack. Alamgir Biswas was named in the case.
Police nabbed 11 Jamaat activists from scene of the clashes on that day.
