Shibir website hacked

The website of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student affiliate of Jamaat-e-Islami was hacked with a message posted on the homepage saying the action was 'dedicated to Shahbagh'.

The hacking was noticed on Friday night. The Bangla version of the site (http://www.shibir.org. bd) displayed tell-take signs of being hacked till last checked on Saturday morning around 10am.

The homepage contains a headline saying this was 'dedicated to Shahbagh" with a sub-header in atrocitous English saying 'MY WAR IS DECLEAR AGAINST YOU’.

According to the message on site, ‘XTOR’ claimed responsibility for the hacking.

The homepage also contained a footer written in green and red, ‘PROUD TO BE BANGLADESHI’.

The hacking came amidst countrywide uproar demanding capital punishment of war criminals and a ban on Jamaat and Shibir with Shahbagh emerging as the epicentre of the movement.

The government has already amended laws to International Crimes (Tribunals) Act, 1973, with scope for not only appeal for a greater punishment for Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Molla, but also to try Jamaat as organisation for war crimes.

Jamaat and Shibir have unleashed considerable throughout Bangladesh demanding abolition of war crimes tribunals and release of its leaders for the past three months.

Home Minister M K Alamgir blamed the Jamaat and Shibir for the countrywide violence on Friday.
